How Odisha Government Successfully Rescued 23 Stranded Tourists from Nepal Amid Violence

Successful Rescue Operation of Odia Tourists

Bhubaneswar: On Thursday, the Odisha government announced the successful rescue of 23 pilgrims and tourists who had become stranded in Nepal due to recent violence. This operation was executed through a coordinated effort by the Directorate of Odisha Paribar, part of the Department of Odia Language, Literature, and Culture.

The Directorate swiftly contacted the Chief Resident Commissioner's office in New Delhi as soon as the situation was reported. This office then liaised with the Indian Embassy in Kathmandu and the Ambassador through the Ministry of External Affairs. Minister Suryabanshi Suraj shared on X, stating, “Due to the political instability in Nepal, 23 Odias who were stranded there have been brought back to India.”

Thanks to the collaborative efforts of the Odisha Paribar Directorate and the Chief Resident Commissioner's office, all 23 Odia tourists have returned safely to India. Minister Suraj expressed gratitude towards the Ministry of External Affairs and the Indian Embassy in Kathmandu for their support in this operation.
